TaDa Gaming, home of next generation play, has been building its brand across multiple U.S. states and enabling new partnerships with industry leaders Ceasars, BetRiver, BetMGM and EveryMatrix.
With G2E generally seen as the gateway to U.S. gaming, launching an exciting new release designed for players in America is a smart move.
Over 25,000 attendees and senior decision makers across all verticals are slated to visit this 7-9 October, so there couldn’t be a better time for the innovative provider to showcase its new FortuneZombie 2 shooting game.
We spoke to Reeves Chen, CEO – U.S. Markets, TaDa Gaming, to find out what this new title will bring to both players and operators.
Tell us about Fortune Zombie 2
Fortune Zombie 2 is our new zombie shooting title for U.S. markets. It takes players on a journey to overcome challenges, make strategic decisions, trigger rewards and take down Zombie Bosses to reach the final destination.
We received a lot of feedback on Fortune Zombie but the question that kept coming up was “where did the zombies come from?”. Similar to the Star Wars series in that the narratives were not released in a linear order, we stepped back in time to the origin of the zombie virus for the basis of Fortune Zombie 2.
The baseline is a small group of intrepid survivors who help players to shoot and battle their way through challenges and strategic layers of gamification.
New character avatars unlock extra weapons; new Bosses impact the gameplay direction and win potential; and in-game bonuses ramp up the excitement: so it really is a fantastic new addition to the series.
What are the differences between Fortune Zombie 2 and Fortune Zombie?
One of the key differences is that players are on an active quest in Fortune Zombie 2 to shoot their way through the new locations: while new characters, Bosses and weapons with enhanced firepower also give more variety in ways to win.
The intention is for the rewards to feel earned. This enhances the connection players have with the game and creates a sense of satisfaction in taking down a Boss.
Visually, we focused the design of Fortune Zombie 2 to indicate an earlier era so the Lucky Tune Bonus game, which matches symbols for multipliers to 360x, is hosted on a 1950s style TV and the soundtrack is intentionally reminiscent of early black and white horror movies.
We also added classic fright night environments such as a haunted house with a cemetery and a dystopian prison. These are post-apocalyptic wastelands following the outbreak of the zombie virus and are ruled by new Bosses which drive the gameplay in multiple different ways.
How are the new Bosses driving the gameplay?
Existing players of Fortune Zombie will pick up that the new Bosses enter the game earlier and stay longer, increasing their share of total playtime. This gives greater reward cycles and more emotive encounters for better engagement.
Visually, the new Bosses are more varied and move between ethereal whimsy with Lunoria, the Ghost Bride, to the terrifying Meckong or a more CoD/military impression from the Warden. The detail is impressive and their on-screen reward effects are masterful.
The game plays out from the Green-Wood Cemetery, home to Lunoria (50x - 1,000x), the rose throwing Ghost Bride; to the derelict Golden Gate Bridge where Meckong (60x - 2,500x), a terrifying giant steel Gorilla holds power.
Players can then fight their way to Alcatraz Prison and the Liberation Gate overseen by the Warden, Grimbadge (40x - 3,750x). Defeating him means prizes including a medal; a doomsday survival kit; and a magic key which will add multipliers to the total winnings as players head to the final destination.
Furthermore, the new, high-intensity weapons we incorporated in to Fortune Zombie 2 also significantly increase win frequency, further reinforcing the Boss-centric gameplay.
The motivation to play, to rise to the challenges and benefit from the new Boss characters and weapons all give a more competitive edge to the game for increased engagement and retention.
Apart from the Bosses, what other new characters, weapons or motivators are in Fortune Zombie 2?
In line with the Bosses, we also added in characters to resonate with players as part of the ‘survivors’ group’.
Players rescue these characters through successfully hitting zombies. The more players shoot, the faster they release the character and simultaneously fill the Free Grenade launcher, which we kept from the original game.
We added in the Fire Drop bonus for maximising the kill count; the Axe, which will inflict serious damage; and the Plasma Turret which sends electrified arcs to zap multiple zombies simultaneously.
The different characters help players by taking over the cannon and bringing their special weapon skills.
The Nurse delivers enhanced shooting rates; the Mailman alone can access the Axe for high impact attacks; and the Plasma Turret will zap multiple zombies but can only be used by the Cop Avatar. So, players need to be strategic in storing and using their firepower.
We clearly need to play this game. What can visitors to your Stand 4030, G2E, expect?
A great experience for sure. Our Experience Zone is a dedicated space to showcase Fortune Zombie 2. Enabling delegates to actually play shooting games is the most effective way to demonstrate what they bring to the player experience and consequently the operator offering.
All our visitors will be able to appreciate the striking cinematic animations and immersive gameplay on big screens. Moreover, the mobile first approach we have applied to Fortune Zombie 2 makes it easy to play anywhere and on any device, adding to its engagement and retention levels.
