Following the successful launch of Fortune Zombie, a shooting game designed specifically for the U.S. market, TaDa will be showcasing the latest release in the planned series – Fortune Zombie 2 – at G2E, Las Vegas, 7-9 October.
Promising spectacular gameplay, a new cast of Bosses and ramped up firepower, Fortune Zombie 2 will be the first opportunity to experience this new way of playing to win for some visitors. Arthur Lee, Business Development Manager - U.S. Markets, TaDa Gaming, gave us the lowdown on what to expect.
As the No. 1 provider for shooting games, what makes Fortune Zombie 2 so exciting?
This is our new zombie shooting title for U.S. markets. It takes players on a quest across multiple new locations packed with challenges and strategic decisions to trigger rewards. And these rewards really feel earned when players take down the Zombie Bosses, creating a sense of satisfaction that many players are craving.
New character avatars unlock extra weapons giving more variety in ways to win; new Bosses impact the gameplay direction and win potential; and in-game bonuses ramp up the excitement.
The gameplay is immersive and high-intensity weapons significantly increase the win frequency, further reinforcing the Boss-centric gameplay.
What are the key differences between the original release and Fortune Zombie 2?
For the ‘origin narrative’ to work with the features, the new locations include the Golden Gate Bridge; Alcatraz prison; and Green-Wood Cemetery.
The storyline traces the origin of the Zombie virus, so the game is also set in an earlier era. To make this apparent, the soundtrack is deliberately 1960s sci-fi, with a nod to the Addams Family and visual clues come with features such as the Lucky Tune Bonus game, which matches symbols for multipliers to 360x, and is hosted on a 1950s style TV.
Importantly, fans will also notice that the new Bosses enter the game earlier and stay longer, increasing their share of total playtime. This gives greater reward cycles and more emotive encounters for better engagement.
Fortune Zombie 2 is polished with crisper graphics so the visual effects when players successfully take down these Bosses are as impressive as the multiplier rewards they give.
To make a feature of the new weapons, we included an avatar ‘survivors’ group’ that players release through shooting zombies. These avatars have unique skills so the nurse delivers an increased fire rate; the mailman has a powerful Axe and the cop can access the Plasma Turret which sends electrified arcs to zap multiple zombies simultaneously.
The more players shoot, the faster they release the avatars and fill the free grenade launcher, so players need to be strategic in storing and using their firepower.
TaDa’s portfolio offers over 200+ titles: which other releases are resonating with U.S. players and why?
Our diverse slot games have been very well received across different states and this is due to our expert ‘glocalisation’ strategy.
We always begin with deep research before approaching any new market. Our data showed that U.S. players, especially those making the change over from land-based casinos to online play, lean towards medium-to-high volatility games with frequent bonus features.
A second key finding was the popularity and recognition of the triple pots feature in the U.S., with 100% of the Top Ten games at the end of 2024 containing this mechanism and this led us to launch with our TriLuck™ slots series.
To begin, we re-branded the games: 3 Lucky Piggy became 3 Rich Piggy as ‘rich’ has more positive connotations than ‘lucky’. 3 Charge Buffalo was re-set as 3 Pot Buffalo to bring the ‘3 pots’ mechanism into closer focus and highlight the key features. 3 Coin Treasures tested positively and so remained the same.
Moreover, as entertainment value was deemed more important than win potential, the hit and bonus frequency and the betting range and number of free spins were adjusted to balance reward and entertainment.
This has clearly appealed as, from new player sign up to increased rounds played and repeat visits, our numbers are good. Retention rates have improved by 23% compared to other titles, with an overall player base growth of 10%, based on the latest quarterly data.
Having made a strong start in America, what else are you doing to keep up this visibility?
Overall, TaDa’s strategy is to actively partner with leading local and national operators. This enhances our localisation skills through know-how and enables quicker responses based on direct feedback – from player preference to imminent regulatory changes.
So, working with industry leaders such as BetRiver and Caesars is giving us significant brand exposure across a wide demographic. Simultaneously we are learning and acquiring real time data to constantly improve our localisation.
Our games are RNG certified by benchmark bodies such as BMM and iGaming Labs for visible fairness and we hold multiple licences, including from the prestigious UKGC and the MGA.
This legitimacy facilitated our approach to those operators looking for providers with experience in regulated markets; plus we are currently waiting on our Ontario application.
Our most recent partnership is with EveryMatrix, through its B2B aggregator platform SlotMatrix. EveryMatrix’s 2022 signing with BetMGM means more players will now be able to access TaDa’s TriLuck™ slots through this platform. This has extended our U.S footprint further, opening up Michigan and Pennsylvania.
By positioning ourselves as a provider of innovative, safe and immersive gaming experiences, we are building a loyal player base which searches for TaDa releases by brand and not just by feature.
